How Foreign Travel Affects the Aging Process: Research.


Scientists from Edith Cowan University in Perth (Western Australia) studied the impact of traveling to other countries on health and concluded that it helps people look younger.
"Aging, as a process, is irreversible. Although it cannot be stopped, it can be slowed down," said Fangli Hu.
Researchers claim that exposure to new cultures, languages, and environments can positively influence the body's response to stress, boost the immune system, and speed up metabolism.
"Simply put, the self-defense system becomes more resilient. Hormones that promote tissue repair can be released and aid in the functioning of the self-repair system," explained Hu.
Experts believe that travel promotes a healthy lifestyle, as such trips can improve physical and mental health and slow down the aging process. In a new environment, people become more active, adventurous, and communicate more with others.
The researcher also notes that the psychological aspect of travel is important. During trips, people tend to communicate more with interesting strangers, which can improve mood, reduce feelings of loneliness, and enhance cognitive functions.
According to the survey, Florence was recognized as the most comfortable city in Europe for walking tourism. It is renowned for its incredible architecture, culture, and coziness. All important places can be visited within 10-15 minutes.
Venice came in second, followed by Riga, the capital of Latvia, in third place.
