Ukrainians' cars have started to be evacuated from the yards: how to protect your rights.

In Kyiv, the evacuation of cars from the yards of residential buildings has begun, a practice introduced in Russia. However, this step is legally complicated, as the area near the houses officially belongs to the city. If the municipality evacuates cars from its land, it takes on the responsibility for ensuring their removal. Expert Oleg Popenko also notes that it is necessary to resolve the legal status of the land near apartment buildings and transfer it to the residents, as has already been done in Poland. Furthermore, the evacuation of cars may lead to conflicts and retrospectively cause problems for businesses. Popenko proposes a comprehensive approach to the parking problem in yards, which includes creating special driveways near each building, similar to the Polish experience. He also urges residents of Kyiv whose cars have been evacuated to fight for their rights, as such evacuation can be legally contested.
