The White House considered the possibility of a public call for an official invitation to Ukraine to NATO, but decided against it.
According to Bloomberg, U.S. President Joe Biden has no intention of inviting Ukraine to NATO, as he believes the likelihood of success on this issue in the short term is low. Instead, the parties will work on concluding bilateral agreements that guarantee security for Ukraine.
President Biden aims to strengthen Ukraine's position before Donald Trump's presidency ends. One step in this direction is allowing Ukraine to use Western weapons to strike military targets on Russian territory.
