Expert identified the method of deterring Russian strikes on Ukraine's energy sector.

Ukraine has a power shortage
The International Energy Agency reported that in Ukraine, the absence of electricity accounts for one-third of the expected demand during peak hours. These data are confirmed by a UN report, noting that blackout durations in the winter period can range from four to 18 hours.
This was stated by Ivan Us, chief consultant of the Center for Foreign Policy Studies at the National Institute for Strategic Studies, in an interview with FREEДОМ.
18 hours without light is a clear exaggeration, but Russia has caused serious damage to Ukrainian energy.
According to the expert, Russia has been attacking Ukrainian energy throughout this year, particularly since late spring. Now we face even greater risks, and we have several courses of action if attacks on energy facilities intensify.
Besides repairing the facilities, it is important to protect them. The economist believes that one of the methods could be a response from Russia. Clear messages must be made that the destruction of Ukrainian energy infrastructure will not go without consequences.
We have partners who are helping us, but I am not sure that Russia will be able to help us in the energy sector. Therefore, clear messages must be sent so that Russia understands the price it will pay. This will be the main deterrent factor that will allow us to get through the winter with problems, but not so serious.
