The infrastructure of Ukrainian nuclear power plants is insufficiently protected from possible attacks from Russia, said Olga Kosharna, co-founder of the NGO "Anti-crisis Expert Nuclear Center of Ukraine". According to her, the distribution devices are protected only by gabions filled with sand, which were partially destroyed. Such structures cannot protect from even small fragments. Kosharna added that the Russians plan to shell distribution devices, not nuclear power units. She criticizes the company "Energoatom" for spending money on building new units instead of protecting existing structures.
