Halushchenko spoke about how Ukraine is preparing for the cessation of Russian gas transit.

The Minister of Energy of Ukraine, German Halushchenko, stated that Ukraine has long been planning to halt the transportation of Russian gas, including conducting tests on the resilience of the gas transportation system (GTS). He reported this during the German-Ukrainian Business Forum in Berlin.
'Our position is completely transparent: we are preparing to reduce gas transportation from January 1st. This issue has been on our agenda for a long Time. This year we conducted several stress tests for our gas system, how it will operate when transportation is reduced to zero,' said Halushchenko.
The Minister participated in the panel 'Ukrainian Energy System: Current Needs and Strategic Development'. According to Halushchenko, due to the full-scale aggression, over 10 GW of energy capacity has been lost, and approximately 18 GW are located in occupied territories.
The head of the Ministry of Energy emphasized that the protection of the domestic energy infrastructure is a matter of survival, as Russia has enough drones to attack even decentralized facilities.
