Ahead of Christmas and Hanukkah, Zelensky met with representatives of religious organizations.


President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky met with representatives of the All-Ukrainian Council of Churches and Religious Organizations ahead of Christmas and Hanukkah. The President expressed gratitude for the support and prayers for the Ukrainian people, as well as for the soldiers on the front and civilian Ukrainians. Zelensky also noted the role of chaplains in supporting defenders on the front and expressed hope for the development of military chaplaincy. He also emphasized that the All-Ukrainian Council of Churches and Religious Organizations is important for advocating for Ukraine, as the Russian Federation is trying to use the church to influence Ukrainians who have remained abroad due to the war.

The All-Ukrainian Council of Churches supported the prohibition of the Moscow Patriarchate.
