Legendary Brazilian basketball player passes away.


Vlamir Marques, one of the greatest Brazilian basketball players in history, passed away at the age of 87. Vlamir was part of the Brazil national team that became world champions in 1959 and 1963 and won two bronze Olympic medals in 1960 and 1964. He earned the nickname 'Blonde Devil' while playing for the Brazil national team. In 1962, he joined the 'Corinthians' team and won 18 titles. After retiring, he worked as a coach for both the men's and women's teams at 'Corinthians'. Vlamir Marques and Croatian Krešimir Čosić hold the record for the most medals in basketball world championships. In 1991, he was included in the list of the 50 greatest players by FIBA, and in 2023, he became a member of the FIBA Hall of Fame.
Akinori Nakayama passes away - Olympic champion in artistic gymnastics
Japanese gymnast Akinori Nakayama passed away at the age of 83. The cause of death was stomach cancer. He became a four-Time Olympic champion, winning four gold medals in 1968 and two gold medals in 1972 at the Olympic Games. He has a total of 12 medals in world championships, including seven gold. In 2005, Nakayama became a member of the International Gymnastics Federation Hall of Fame.
Doris Fitshen passes away - four-time European football champion
Doris Fitshen, a four-time European football champion with the German national team, passed away at the age of 57. She played 144 matches for the national team and won the Euros four times. She also received a bronze medal at the 2000 Olympic Games. Doris Fitshen will always be remembered as a person who looked positively at things and life. She became a role model for many, not just on the field.
