Euro is one of the most well-known and stable currencies in the world. Moreover, the history of this money started not so long ago - only in 2002.
Euro is the official currency of the countries that belong to the Eurozone. The euro entered circulation in 2002, but the currency itself was created four years before this, as stated on the European Union (EU) website.
The main EU bank is the European Central Bank (ECB). Currently, banknotes are in circulation with denominations of 5, 10, 20, 50, 100, 200 and 500 euros, but in 2019 the regulator announced that it would stop printing the last banknote.
Where euros are accepted
Countries where the euro is an official currency:

- Croatia;
- Estonia;
- Finland;
- France;
- Germany;
- Greece;
- Ireland;
- Italy;
- Latvia;
- Lithuania;
- Luxembourg;
- Malta;
- Netherlands;
- Portugal;
- Slovakia;
- Slovenia;
- Spain.
This list also includes countries that are not part of the EU. In total, there are two blocks of such countries:
- countries that have agreed with the EU to use euros;
- countries that have no such agreements.
