Russia does not pay its military - how the Kremlin 'throws' money away.

In the Southern Military District of the Armed Forces of Russia, serious funding problems for servicemen have been identified. According to internal documents from the Russian Ministry of Defense, which were made public by the Ukrainian military intelligence, about 10% of Russian military personnel partially or completely do not receive their financial payments. The verification was conducted in March-April 2025.
In particular, based on the information received, more than 2,500 servicemen did not receive any payments due to problems with documents confirming their status in the Armed Forces. Additionally, over 3,000 people were left without money due to the lack of banking details. More than 20,000 military personnel received less money than they should have due to the absence of necessary orders. Furthermore, about 2,500 families of the deceased and over 2,000 discharged servicemen also did not receive payments.
The Main Intelligence Directorate noted that this is typical only for one of the five military districts, and the situation in others may be even worse. Experts believe that this level of underfunding may indicate a special policy of the aggressor state, which constantly uses the military as a means for its own goals.
Moreover, reports indicated that besides financial difficulties, Russian military personnel also face problems regarding food supplies. In particular, intelligence has recorded instances of cannibalism among Russian soldiers.
Summary:Ukrainian military intelligence has received information about systemic funding problems for Russian servicemen in the Southern Military District. About 10% of military personnel do not receive their financial payments for various reasons, indicating serious issues within the Russian army. The lack of food supplies for military personnel also highlights the overall crisis in Russia's military structures.Read also
