How much money is needed for a carefree old age in Germany.

In Germany, the pension for a person with a gross salary of 3500 euros after 45 years of work will be about 1570 euros per month. If the salary is 2500 euros gross, the pension will be about 1120 euros. However, often these amounts are not enough for financial stability in old age, reports 'Hlavkom' citing Ausnews.
Is this enough for a secure old age?
According to the Federal Statistical Office, in 2021, more than a quarter of retirees in Germany received less than 1000 euros per month net. For women, this figure was 38.2%. In total, there were 17.6 million retirees in the country at that Time.
'By 2025, many retirees will face financial difficulties, and some may even find themselves on the brink of poverty and will be forced to receive basic assistance. This particularly affects women, who may find themselves in a difficult financial situation in old age. However, everyone wants to live on their pension without financial problems,' the material states.
The German government’s pension insurance report for 2024 shows that at the end of 2023, the average pension for male retirees was 1332 euros per month, while for women it was only 1118 euros. Men with reduced earning capacity received an average of 989 euros, while women received 993 euros. For many, these amounts are insufficient. Hence the question remains: what salary should one have in their working years to live carefree in old age.
By the way, in Kyiv, a resident appropriated nearly 230 thousand hryvnias in pension payments from his deceased grandmother. He has been charged with fraud. The man decided not to inform the pension fund about his grandmother's death and instead received her pension monthly for about a year.
