The USA has lost positions: Europe has 'outpaced' the Pentagon in military aid to Ukraine for the first time.


According to the Kiel Institute for the World Economy, Europe has, for the first Time since June 2022, surpassed the USA in total military aid to Ukraine. Scandinavian countries and Britain stand out, having significantly increased their supplies, while Germany maintains a more restrained approach.
In March and April 2025, the USA suspended new military supplies to Ukraine for two months, which allowed Europe to strengthen its support. During this period, Europe provided military aid to Ukraine amounting to €10.4 billion and humanitarian and economic support of €9.8 billion, which were record amounts for this period. Among the countries that particularly excelled in increasing aid are Sweden, which provided €1.6 billion, and Norway, which allocated €670 million.
Europe has surpassed the USA in providing military aid to Ukraine, increasing its support after the suspension of American supplies. The record volumes of European assistance in the form of military, humanitarian, and economic aid indicate growing support from European countries, particularly Sweden and Norway.
