FIBA has announced the hosts of the Men's EuroBasket 2029. This was reported by 'Glavkom'.
The national federations of Estonia, Greece, Spain, and Slovenia have been granted the right to host the tournament. The European Championship will take place in Athens (Greece), Ljubljana (Slovenia), Tallinn (Estonia), and Madrid (Spain), with the Spanish capital also serving as the venue for the final stage.
In total, FIBA considered six bids to host the tournament. In addition to the selected countries, Lithuania and Finland also applied.
'We are excited to present the hosts of EuroBasket 2029, which will take place in leading basketball cities in Europe, each with a strong basketball culture and a desire to host an outstanding event,' said FIBA Europe President Jorge Garbajosa.
The reigning EuroBasket champions, the Spain national team, will host the European Championship for the first Time since 2007. Estonia has also received the right to host such a tournament for the first time.

Exclusion of Russian and Belarusian Teams
The Executive Committee of the International Basketball Federation (FIBA) has extended the exclusion of Russian and Belarusian clubs and teams from participating in tournaments. The decision was made at the Executive Committee meeting of the organization in Bahrain.
FIBA intends to consider the issue of the participation of Russians and Belarusians at the next Executive Committee meeting in August.
'The status of Russia and Belarus will be reviewed at the next FIBA Executive Committee meeting, which will take place in August 2025,' the statement read.
In 2022, FIBA suspended the national teams of Russia and Belarus from participation in competitions due to Russian aggression against Ukraine. The ban also applies at the club level.
