Trump announces record US defense budget of $1 trillion.

Trump approves defense budget within $1 trillion
President Donald Trump stated that he has approved the defense budget within $1 trillion. He emphasized the importance of building and strengthening the American military sector, as there are many dangerous forces in the world.
Trump also noted that this defense budget will be the largest in US history. However, the details of the budget request for the 2026 fiscal year have not yet been disclosed, as the government is operating under temporary funding.
Increase in defense spending
Following recommendations from former Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin, the US needs to increase defense spending by $50 billion more than was projected for 2026. This increase will allow the Pentagon's budget to reach $1 trillion in the coming years.
Defense Secretary Pete Hagset also supports the idea of cutting costs through the Government Efficiency Department. It is worth noting that the Pentagon is the largest government structure in the US, with an annual budget of $850 billion and about 2 million employees.
Cost cuts and funding directions
In February, Secretary Hagset announced cuts to some Pentagon and military service expenditures by 8% to redirect these funds to priority programs, particularly missile defense.
