Europe is suffering from extreme heat and wildfires that have already resulted in human casualties and significant destruction. For example, in Spain, two people died because of a wildfire, while in France, high temperatures led to the deaths of two individuals and the hospitalization of 300 others. In Barcelona, an investigation is also underway into the death of a cleaner from the heat.

Countries not accustomed to such extreme weather conditions, like Italy and Switzerland, are also suffering from the heat and wildfires. The Italian government has declared a red level of danger for 18 cities due to the extreme heat, while Axpo in Switzerland has been forced to limit production at its nuclear power plant due to critical river water temperatures. Scientists confirm that such phenomena are a result of climate change caused by human activity and industry.
