ISW names the target of the advance of Russian troops in Kharkiv region.

Russian military forces launched an offensive in the northeastern Kharkiv region, attempting to create a 'buffer zone' along the border with Ukraine. This was reported by the Institute for the Study of War (ISW) on Sunday, July 13.
What is known about the Russian offensive in Kharkiv region
Russian troops have pushed toward Velykyi Burluk, preparing for large-scale military actions. There have been almost no hostilities in this area for the past two years, but the movement of troops indicates a change in the situation.
Russians are redeploying troops to the city, preparing for new subsequent steps. Efforts by the opposing side to stop the aggressor have not yet yielded results, and the situation remains tense.
There are fears that Russian troops may expand the territory under their control, threatening Khatne and other settlements. Fighters are moving under difficult conditions, but Ukraine is ready to defend.
The Russian command may reinforce forces in an already tense region, which will overload Ukraine's defense. However, the armed forces are doing everything possible to prevent the enemy's advance.
The head of the Main Intelligence Directorate Kyrylo Budanov and the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi have opposing views on events at the front, but both equally support the Ukrainian side in its defensive actions.
