GPS Navigation Disruptions: Kallas Issues Warning to Russia.

The EU is ready to impose sanctions on Russia for malicious activities in space
Kaja Kallas, the head of European Union diplomacy, announced that the EU is prepared to impose sanctions on Russia for its malicious activities in outer space, including causing disruptions in GPS navigation. She claims that the European Union has already faced hybrid attacks, particularly in space by jamming satellite navigation signals.
Kallas emphasized that there is a danger to satellites, ground infrastructure, and the space industry from various types of weapons. She also cited examples of anti-satellite missile launches and cyberattacks on space systems by Russia.
According to Kaja Kallas, the EU needs to improve oversight and accountability for Russia's malicious activities in space. She also suggests considering the possibility of expanding mutual defense provisions to include outer space. In response to such actions by Moscow, the European Union may impose sanctions similar to those applied to Russian officials in connection with cyberattacks. Kallas called for discussions on how best to apply sanctions to outer space.
It is worth noting that Poland, the Baltic States, and Finland have already reported jamming of GPS signals by Russia to protect their strategic facilities from Ukrainian air strikes.
