Today, January 8, the Armed Forces of Ukraine delivered a precise strike on the command post of the 8th Guards Army of the Russian Federation. It was located in the city of Khartsyzk in the Donetsk region. This was reported by the General Staff.
«The Russian occupation forces used this building for coordinating attacks against the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the civilian population, particularly the residents of Kurakhove. All necessary measures were taken to minimize risks to civilians», – the report states.

As a reminder, tonight, on January 8, a storage base for petroleum products «Kombinat Kristal» in Engels, Saratov region was attacked. The task was carried out by units of the Main Intelligence Directorate and the UAV forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in cooperation with other components of the Defense Forces.
It was reported that the attack on the largest trading port in Russia, Ust-Luga in the Leningrad region, was the work of the Security Service of Ukraine. According to sources from «Glavkom», on January 4, long-range drones of the Security Service covered over 900 km, almost reaching St. Petersburg, and successfully hit the target.
