In the city of Vinnytsia, a 22-year-old Mercedes driver was detained after hitting two girls at a pedestrian crossing in the city center. This was reported by the Vinnytsia region police.
Today, on January 16 at 16:20, the Mercedes driver hit two pedestrians on Teatralna Street. The girls, who were 19 years old, had to be hospitalized with bodily injuries.
It turned out that the driver is a resident of the Tulchyn district. Investigators are preparing materials for notifying the detainee of suspicion and choosing a preventive measure for him.
«An investigation has been launched by the investigative department regarding this fact under part 2 of article 286 (Violation of traffic safety rules or transportation operation by persons managing vehicles) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine», the message says.
Until a preventive measure is chosen, the 22-year-old driver will remain in the temporary detention facility. He faces up to eight years in prison.
