Pension Worth a Quarter Million: PFC Shows the Richest Pensioner in Ukraine.

The richest pensioner-prosecutor in Ukraine: how did this happen?
A former prosecutor from the Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi specialized prosecution office lives in the Odesa region and receives an extraordinarily high pension from the Pension Fund. Andrii Sakhano receives over 250 thousand hryvnias monthly, while the current head of this prosecution office declared just over one hundred thousand.
'Theoretically, this is impossible, but our courts can do anything.'
Through numerous court processes, Sakhano managed to obtain a pension that exceeds the salary of the current head of the prosecution by over 220%. By violating legal norms, he achieved the inclusion of all possible allowances and supplements in the pension calculation.
Consistently suing the Pension Fund, the former prosecutor received a pension that includes a number of supplements, bonuses, and health assistance. Recently, he is set to receive an additional over 2 million hryvnias due to the recalculation of his pension. This occurred due to the difficult situation with the reduction of pensions for special categories of pensioners, but Sakhano has already appealed this decision in court.
It is worth noting that Sakhano's case is a telling example of the inadequacy of Ukrainian pension legislation. The authorities have enacted laws over many years that provided certain categories of citizens with preferential conditions for receiving pensions, which created opportunities for individuals like the former prosecutor to benefit.
The news talks about a former prosecutor who receives a very high pension, exceeding the salary of the current head of the prosecution by more than twice. It turns out that such situations have become possible due to the shortcomings in pension legislation that grants certain categories of citizens preferential conditions for receiving pensions. Such situations indicate the need for improvement in the pension provision system in Ukraine.
